Artists & instruments

Where instruments find their voice

An exceptional instrument is never simply assigned. The relationship between musician and instrument is discovered over time - through listening, repertoire, touch and trust.

The Maison develops selected relationships with artists whose artistry can reveal the character of an instrument. These collaborations are curated directly and through trusted institutional and professional partners, allowing historic instruments to remain active, visible and heard on stage.

Artistic collaborations are developed exclusively by invitation and through trusted professional and institutional partners. The Maison is therefore unable to consider unsolicited applications or individual instrument requests.

How a pairing begins

  1. Listen to the musician: repertoire, artistic identity, career stage and practical needs.
  2. Understand the instrument: projection, colour, response, condition and playing requirements.
  3. Allow time to explore: a meaningful decision should not be reduced to a single session.
  4. Nurture the relationship: expert adjustments, insurance, logistics, documentation and regular review.
  5. Share the story: performances, recordings and selected encounters help audiences understand the pairing.

Yanis Griso x Andrea Guarneri (1643)

A young voice meets a Cremonese master

Violinist Yanis Griso plays an Andrea Guarneri violin made in Cremona in 1643, placed at his disposal by the Maison Luxembourgeoise des Instruments d'Exception. This exceptional pairing brings together centuries of Cremonese craftsmanship and the artistic vision of a new generation, allowing a historic instrument to find its voice on today's concert stages.

“Playing an instrument with such a remarkable history is both a privilege and a responsibility. Every note reveals something of its unique character, creating a dialogue between centuries of craftsmanship and my own musical expression. It is extraordinary to give a voice to an instrument that has been inspiring musicians for generations.”

— Yanis Griso, Violinist
